Let’s start off the field with Everson Griffin. Arguably one of the most dominant defensive ends the Vikings have had in recent history along with Jared Allen. Let me start by saying, I get it, I am an ego guy. I would like to think that I am the best at everything I do. Is that true? Yes. But the difference between me and Griffin here, is I don’t need validation. Some may say that he’s finding chips to put on his shoulder for motivation Sunday, especially after losing his starting quarterback.

To me, this is an insane take though. What did he want from the opposing coach prior to their game on Sunday? Was he looking for: ‘OH MY GOD, I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE GRIFFIN WHO IS A GOD AMOUNG D-ENDS, BEST GUY I HAVE EVER COACHED!’?

What kind of message would that send to the Vikings locker room of young guys? That their coach is living in the past and slurping the opposing team? No. I Like U GIFs - Get the best GIF on GIPHYNo way is that going to happen, yea Griffin is a good player, but for Zimmer, he’s growing his new guys now and needs them to know he’s in their corner. As for Griffin, I guess he has some white board material? As a former fan though, this just seems soft and silly.

Transitioning to the game and one that is not going to include Stafford, this is going to go one of two ways. One, the Vikings prepare, play to their potential and win. The line is still -4 with the Vikings being favored at home. As a disgruntled Vikings fan though, I cannot forget about the second scenario. In that scenario we are feeling good after a win, don’t take the Lions seriously and spot them 14 points in the first quarter and lose in a close game. A game in which we are playing catch up the whole game and require Cousins to throw way too many times.

I am going to believe, I believe we are going to win, but I think it’s led by the defense, I think Kirk struggles again and the defense bails him out. We are not going to be able to run the ball like we did last week against Green Bay.
