NFL Week 10 Vikings Preview: Kirk’s Monday Night Football Curse

According to SI.com, “Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins is 0-for-9 on Monday Night Football and 0-for-3 against the Chicago Bears since he came to Minnesota…”.

Curses are meant to be broken, and tonight is the night! Halloween has passed. Kirk is going to have a good game, not mistake free, but a good game. This game, as well as every other game for the rest of this season, is a make or break game for the Vikings, when it comes to their playoff lives. They are matching up against a Bears defense that is ruthless up front and is going to force Kirk to beat them to get his first win on Monday night.

I think people are expecting the Vikings to lose. Me? I believe in something. I believe in Mike Zimmer’s defense. And I am becoming to believe that in the beginning of the season when Zimmer said it would take time for the younger guys to learn the defense, he was spot on. I believe that the defense is only getting stronger. I also think Dalvin Cook can run enough to keep the front four from Chicago honest and give Kirk time to throw.

I also know that the play calling is getting changed in Chicago, and I think it will take a week or so for that to make an impact. I also know that missing Cohen and Montgomery as their running backs does not help Foles from an offensive perspective.

Everything is stacked against the Vikings, and that’s how I know we have a chance. Kirk on Monday night, three divisional wins in a row, Bears have lost three in a row so people think they are due. Maybe I am a gluten for punishment and pain, but I think the Vikings are going to win by a touchdown and hit the over 43.5. Stats don’t matter tonight, it’s going to be a wild ride.

Bring on Monday Night Football, I am ready for the celebration or the pain.

Let’s go. SKOL.
